Digital Ranch is an Emmy® Award winning production company run by Robert Kirk and Rob Lihani, two veteran producers who have produced hundreds of hours of television for Animal Planet, A&E, ABC, CBS, Discovery Channel, TruTV / Court TV, FOX, HBO, History Channel, Investigation Discovery, NBC, PBS and many other cable networks, as well as numerous television commercials and interactive CD-ROMs. Based in Los Angeles, Digital Ranch is renowned for the photo-realistic CGI work on their series Dogfights on the History Channel, and the Animal Armageddon series for Animal Planet.
Digital Ranch completed eight seasons (100 episodes) of their hit series Mail Call, starring R. Lee Ermey of Full Metal Jacket fame (History Channel), plus several Mail Call specials, including: Live from the Gulf, A Very Ermey Christmas and the one-hour special Mail Call: D–Day on location in Europe, which premiered on the 60th anniversary of D-Day. The company also produced the spectacular two-hour History Channel special, The Ottoman Empire.
A regular producer of Court TV’s anthology series The Investigators, Digital Ranch also produced the renamed TruTV’s breakout series Murder By The Book, featuring America’s top mystery fiction writers recounting their memories, speculations and personal connections to true-life mysteries and headline-making crimes, and currently produces Dominick Dunne’s Power, Privilege and Justice for the network, and the series, Solved for the ID Network.
Digital Ranch partnered with Simmons Lathan Media Group, founded by Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons and producer/director Stan Lathan, to produce Russell Simmons Presents: Hip Hop Justice for Court TV, and two direct-to-DVD projects: F.E.D.S. and Truth. Digital Ranch also created more than 30 national TV commercials and over 70 ‘webisodes’ for the US Army’s most successful ad campaign ever: An Army of One / GoArmy.com.
In April 2003 Digital Ranch released the 35mm docu-drama, The Hittites, co-produced with EKiP Film in Istanbul, and narrated by Academy Award® winner Jeremy Irons. From hip hop to Stonehenge, from Snipers to James Bond’s Gadgets, Digital Ranch brings to the table a state-of-the-art, full-service production facility, plus over 6,000 hours of footage in its tape library.
